Carom Seeds

Our carom seed, a.k.a. Ajwain, is a highly fragrant and flavorful spice grown at a cousin’s organic farm in Rajasthan, India.

While a member of the Apiaceae family, alongside cumin and fennel, carom seeds have a stronger flavor and a scent similar to that of thyme.  Rich in nutrients and essential oils, a small amount of this spice adds a wonderfully pungent aroma & taste in curries and flatbreads.  It is a must-have spice in Indian cuisine.  And in ayurvedic medicine, it is frequently used as a prescription for stomach ailments.
