Matcha Set

Matcha has been gaining popularity around the world as a ‘superfood’ and our Matcha Set is designed to help you craft the perfect cup. The set includes a handcrafted ceramic chawan bowl, a bamboo ‘chasen’ whisk, a drying stand for the chasen, and a bamboo tea scoop or ‘chashaku’.

A great cup of matcha starts with the purity and quality of the tea and Zaica’s matcha is authentically crafted at an 8th generation tea farm near Kyoto, Japan. Scoop one teaspoon of matcha in the bowl, add half a cup of hot water and whisk vigorously with the chasen for 15 seconds using a back-and-forth motion. Note that sifting your matcha may be required if it has naturally clumped up.  Finish with a smooth and slow whisking motion with the tips of the chasen to create a smoother texture. Rinse and set your chasen on its stand for the next cup.  Mix in more hot water or milk to achieve your desired strength and enjoy a sip of deliciousness that will nourish your body and soul.
