Our turmeric is harvested at a small organic farm in the mountainous region of Sikkim in the Himalayas. Sikkim is a state in Northwest India that went 100% organic in 2016, and won what many regard as the Oscar for best public policies — the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation’s Future Policy Gold Award — in 2018.
Our tribal farmers harvest the turmeric at peak maturity, slice it and dry it in solar dryers to lock in its essence. Our Sikkim turmeric has a much higher curcumin content - the essential compound to reduce inflammation in our bodies. We think freshly ground turmeric is a revelation when compared to the pre-ground powdered version. The color is a deeper gold and the taste is amazingly buttery. You will taste the difference.
