Our black cardamom is harvested at a small organic farm in the mountainous region of Sikkim in the Himalayas, the land of its origin. It's a member of the ginger family and is known as the "Queen of Spices".
Black cardamom is a spice with a strong aroma and a smoky, camphor-like flavor that pairs well with savory or sweet dishes. It is a must-have addition to rice pilaf (pulao) and biryani dishes from South Asia. Also known as ‘moti elaichi’, black cardamom has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine as a supplement for cardiovascular and respiratory health. Use sparingly because it carries a punch, but you’ll be hooked for life.
