Zaica’s Black Sesame Seeds are grown in Malla Sati Naugaon - a pristine mountainous area in the Himalayas - by a women’s collective that supports around 3,000 mountain families.  The soil in this area is nutrient-rich and the Sesame Seeds are grown in organic, rainfed soils using traditional methods indigenous to this area.

The result is aromatic, oil-rich seeds, which add a rich nutty flavor to both sweet and savory recipes in many cuisines from tang yuan to tahini. Black sesame seeds have the hull intact offering a more intense, earthy, and bitter taste and a crunchier texture.
