Chaat Masala

Chaat Masala is a tangy and savory mix of spices that is ubiquitously used in India as a signature flavor in street foods (a.k.a. chaat), fruits, salads, drinks and dips. Add it to popcorn for instant umami. Zaica’s Chaat Masala is freshly ground using heritage spices from organic farmers around the sub-continent.

We add a touch of sweetness to it with Shakkar (crushed jaggery) to balance out the sourness of the Amchoor (dried mango) and Anardana (pomegranate seeds) and the spiciness of the black and red peppers. You may find yourself licking it as a pick-me-up straight out of the bottle (like we sometimes do ;-). Shoutout to our friend Laura who requested that we do a Zaica version of this versatile spice blend.
