Our Hibiscus (Roselle) Tea is made from wild-harvested, sun-dried hibiscus sabdariffa grown at a small family farm in Sisaket, Thailand. Thailand has a strong cultural tradition of preparing it as a cold, sweetened beverage called Nam Krajeab and Thailand's investment in roselle production has also led to a reputation for a high-quality product compared to other nations that grow Hibiscus.

Hibiscus is used as an offering to the Goddess Kali and Lord Ganesha in Hindu worship, and Hawaiian women have been known to wear a single hibiscus flower behind the right ear to indicate availability. We love our Hibiscus tea due to the abundant availability of taste, color, and health benefits. Thanks to its high content of phenolic compounds and organic acids Roselle has gained popularity as a medicinal plant in infusions across different cultures.

Beyond its use as an herbal tea, rehydrated Roselle calyces are used in jams, syrups, chutneys, and sweet-and-sour sauces and can also be incorporated in tacos, empanadas, or burritos, or used as a tangy, decorative ingredient in salads and desserts. It also makes for a wonderful romantic aperitif during date night!
