Our sumac is wild grown and hand harvested at its prime ripeness in the hilly village of Rammun, Palestine (population < 2,500) at a multi-generational family farm.
Sumac is a tangy Mediterranean spice with a bright burgundy color that resembles the taste of lemon without the sourness. Its zesty flavor will add a bright and bold umami flavor to any dish. We love adding it to soups and salads; and to our olive oil bread dip along with our pure za’atar.
